Julian Kostov

Julian Kostov is one of the most successful Bulgarian actors internationally. He made history as the first Bulgarian actor to appear in a West End production and received critical acclaim for his role in the 5-star National Theatre of Great Britain’s Till the Stars Come Down (2025).

In 2026, Julian was nominated for the SAG-AFTRA Actor Awards as part of the ensemble cast of The White Lotus, joining Maria Bakalova as only the second Bulgarian actor to receive such recognition.

Julian has appeared in over 40 film and television projects, including The White Lotus (HBO), Shadow and Bone (Netflix), and the iconic villain Makarov in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. Since February 2026, he has hosted the global hit format “The Floor: Take Control” on Nova TV, which has established itself as a leader in its time slot since its debut episode. Later this year, the feature film “The Boy in the Iron Box” (Netflix), written and produced by Guillermo Del Toro, is due for release.

A former national swimming champion, Kostov runs the production company JupiterLights Media and co-founded Five Oceans with Maria Bakalova, with a mission to spread Bulgarian culture around the world.
