Molec

July Slavchev and Chris Makarov are extremely close friends who share a passion for writing music. At the end of 2021, they formed the Bulgarian band Molec, a fusion of live instruments, trap beats, and poetic lyrics about love, hardships, and their inseparable connection with God. Their first live performance took place in early March 2022 at a small club in Sofia, where they opened for Rushi Vidinliev. Exactly nine months later, they held the largest solo concert in Bulgaria for 2022 at the “Hristo Botev” hall, selling out every show along the way.

The band’s most famous song, “7 Days,” was named “Song of the Summer 2022.” Molec has collaborated with various artists, including V, Mila Robert, Ernesto Valenzuela, and others. At the 2023 Annual Music Awards of BG Radio, they won awards in four categories: “Best Bulgarian Duo/Trio/Vocal Group,” “Best Bulgarian Lyrics,” “Best Bulgarian Debut,” and “Best Bulgarian Music Video” for their song “7 Days,” a feat unprecedented in the ceremony’s history, which dates back to 2002.

Their debut album, “ALBUM,” toured the entire country during their 2023 summer tour, inspiring both young and old along the way. With it, they won the “Best Bulgarian Album” category at the 2024 Annual Music Awards of BG Radio, and once again secured wins in the “Best Bulgarian Duo,” “Best Bulgarian Lyrics,” and “Best Bulgarian Music Video” categories.
